Founding members
The Victorian Roller Derby League was founded in March 2007 by Cherry Rockette (Mandar Nelson), Betty Bamalam, Toxic Judy, Denim Destructor (Chandelle Macklin), and Hidden Magenta.
What began as a small group of passionate skaters quickly grew into a thriving community. By the end of its first year, VRDL had grown to 40 members and hosted its first invite-only bout for friends and family at the Dandenong Showgrounds.
As the league continued to expand, VRDL established its home teams and by 2009 was competing at Puckhandlers in Reservoir, helping lay the foundations for the league that exists today.

Pavey Wavey | 4000
Pavey took home tournament MVP honours after a stellar performance leading VRDL to a fourth-place finish at the 2024 Global Championships.
2017 WFTDA Championships MVP
Lady Trample | 54
Trample was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player after VRDL won the world championship Hydra trophy.
2017 WFTDA Playoffs MVP (Dallas)
Bicepsual | 10
Bicepsual was honored as the tournament MVP during VRDL's undefeated playoff run.
2015 WFTDA Playoffs MVP (Tucson)
Christy Demons | 14
Christy was named the WFTDA International Division 1 Playoffs MVP in Tucson in 2015.

Shaina Serelson | 307
Shaina was named MVP Blocker at the 2012 WFTDA Championships while skating for Denver, before joining and captaining the VRDL All Stars and being on the 2017 WFTDA Championships winning team.
2017 WFTDA Championship winners!
The Victorian Roller Derby League (VRDL) All Stars won the Women's Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) Championship in 2017.
They defeated the Rose City Rollers 180-101 in the final in Philadelphia, becoming the first league outside of the United States to win the prestigious Hydra trophy.
